Girls&Bikes
Dec. 7th, 2010 10:50 amWhat is with all the stylish ladies riding bikes at the moment? It's fantastic! I don't know if it's the weather or what but it's making me very happy. I see at least one a day at the moment and I wish that this blog was legitimate enough that I could ask to photograph them for it, or pull my camera out for a passing shot.
Yesterday I met a girl on an awesome black, custom made bike with mod style clothing and a huge basket on the front. We chatted about bikes and things, and she suggested I check out a place called Pal and Panther on Angrove street. I've never heard of it but I am keen. Apparently they have vintage bikes there and might be able to help me out. I think if I can get a good one, and Gianni can put a hub gear on it, everything will be awesome. So that was nice. She was little too so it gave me hope.
This morning I saw a girl on an old mountain bike in a huge sweater and awesome white globe style shoes.
The other day I say a sweet blue ladies bike and a lady fully dressed up on it.
I've passed a couple of ladies on their bikes on the bike path recently in normal clothes, dresses and boots, and we've all smiled emphatically at each other, like there is hope in the world. It's a nice feeling.
Pedal is really playing up now, making hideous grinding and crunching noises. I need to get that sorted soon but no one has the right thread size pedal for my bike.
Also have plenty of cool images from recent escapades that are bike-relevant and just haven't had the time to post about them. They are beauties so I hope I get to soon.
